A day in Summer

A day in Summer
One day, I was feeling bored and fed up with social media and endless scrolling through reels. As I was browsing, I came across an ad for a game called Sudoku. It reminded me of my childhood when I used to see a square design filled with thin lines and random numbers in the newspaper. Back then, I didn’t understand what it was or why it didn’t seem to represent any kind of value. Eventually, I learned that it was a type of puzzle game.

That ad reignited my childhood curiosity about Sudoku. I also discovered that it's a great exercise for the brain and can even help improve sleep. Intrigued, I searched for a tutorial on YouTube and watched a 20-minute video. From the video, I learned the basic rules of the Sudoku grid: it's a 9x9 grid divided into nine 3x3 boxes. Some cells already contain numbers, called "given digits," and the goal is to fill the empty cells with numbers so that each column, row, and 3x3 region contains the numbers 1 through 9, without repetition.

Excited to try it out, I installed a classic Sudoku game app on my smartphone. I played my first game and was able to solve it! However, I realized I was lacking in speed and efficiency, so I decided to practice more by tackling higher levels.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the challenge, and it’s been a refreshing change from my usual digital routine. ~Priyanshu.
